This was a wonderful exploration. I think the seals were probably more a pale gray than white, though they certainly give a whitish impression. I'd grown up seeing the much larger sea lions on the rocks off the San Francisco coast, but don't recall seeing harbor seals much, if ever.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11830553767527010173noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2139421497584248575.post-60571099450791754862009-03-13T11:58:00.000-05:002009-03-13T11:58:00.000-05:00I'm enjoying your pictures of the northern Califor...I'm enjoying your pictures of the northern California coast. I lived briefly in Mendocino County, but I didn't have the chance to spend much time observing shorebirds. I didn't know there were white harbor seals!Debhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07879771115420282834noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2139421497584248575.post-23054852955014243782009-03-13T08:53:00.000-05:002009-03-13T08:53:00.000-05:00Mary - Hard to say; the top photo gives the best i...Mary - Hard to say; the top photo gives the best idea, but even that is zoomed in a little. Maybe 75-100 yards away? With the naked eye the seals and cormorants were visible, but not with much detail.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11830553767527010173noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2139421497584248575.post-39048503394621115622009-03-12T22:06:00.000-05:002009-03-12T22:06:00.000-05:00Those are so cute.
